Important! : rear axle

   hi people
   
   stupid question but where and what does my rear axle look like on my VTR?
   Been getting a knocking noise from round the handbrake area and on one of the links someone suggests it may be a bolt come loose or gone on the rear axle.

   its what your rear wheels are attached to mate and if your getting a knocking noise it could be your arb mate.

   stupid i know but what is "arb"?
   i know what the rear axle does ect, but where is the location on the vtr?

   its the axle, on the rear. the thing your wheels are to attached to mate. if you take off your wheel, and follow from what the discs (brakes) are attached too, there will be an arm holding that disc, which is the trailing arm, part of your rear beam. follow along further to the right there will be a pear-shaped plate. on this will be a 13mm bolt. tighten that bolt up, and that should sort your problemo.
   
   (the pear shaped bit is the plate for the ARB - Anti Roll Bar)
