performance camshaft & remap combo?

    Hi, I have at the moment a Raceland 4 branch and decat, I fitted a K&N genII cais the other day aswell, I'm going to go down the route of a performance camshaft and a remap to get a bit more performance from my vtr(1.6 silver top),

    Which Camshaft(s) are proven to give good gains and what remap goes with the camshaft to maximise the Cam??

    most people go for newmans cams maybe the ph3, goo gains from those

    as said, a ph3 cam with a remap brings good gains
    could always go a bit further with a shorter ratio gearbox (gti/vts/xsi/rallye/1.1)

    when i was looking into camming my silvertop mk1, i figured it really isnt worth it.
    due to it being a silvertop and not a blacktop engine, not woth fitting cams to silver top engine without changing valve springs as well -they are weaker than black top engines ,so valve float can be a problem. Also to get the most from the cams you would need an aftermarket pulley in order to time the engine to its best potential.

    so by the time you've done all this to maybe reach a bit less than vts power, you may aswell fit a vts 16valve engine for half the price.
