105mph in 3rd?!

   a mate of mine just bought a saxo vts 2001 same as mine, both only rev to 7.250rpm but i only get 95mph in 3rd as he gets 105mph......... speedo out or different gearbox fitted?

   Could be different boxes think there's a calculator in the stickys in one of the sections

   definately a vtr box, my old vts had a vtr box at one point and was exactly the same

   Id say VTR box..but let's be honest..the saxo speedos aren't exactly the most accurate at higher speeds...

    Think the VTR box is around 90mph in third so i dont know what box he has,

    Hahah am havin the same. Got a Quicky with Gti engine fitted and a box of sort. Not worked out the gearing yet. 105+ in 3rd and 138mph in 5th.

    hope the last speed of 138 is guess and not you saying its done that in 5th as dont think that will be happening in a gti 138mph is not going to be had with a gti engine at least on on gps maybe on speedo but if so your speedo is fooked

    Had 151 out of my gti engine, standard rev limit, standard gti gearbox. On gps. Doable. Just.

    It's possible to do 138 in a gti, lad round here can hit 130 in a VTR, all depends what else has been done besides the box. Some people think a VTR with a 1.1 box on would be quick but I don't know if it could be done, I know I wouldnt do it to mine!!

    You must of had some big ass tyres on there Ross, 151mph works out at 7.5k rpm with 195/50/15 R888's fitted.
