torsion bar

my torsion bar on my 1999 saxo vtr is not moving at all, ive had the top one out before so that ones is free,

i cant get the bottom (rh side) to move, wat would be best to get it loose, and wat ways could i do it? could i just smash the chassis arm off? or :/

get a solid bar and lump hammer on the end of the torsion bar and hit it, should go eventually don't knock the arm off you could end up with a knackered beam doing that. Oh and best to put a bolt in the end of the torsion bar before hitting it save damaging the end

ok ok but which end do i hit, Left hand side so it comes outs the right or right hand side so it comes out left ? cheers

does'nt really matter for loosening it off so which ever end is easiest but obviously once loose it will need to come out of the end thats connected to the arm. but once its moving you can probably pull it out the rest of the way with the socket and bolt method

    yes i understand,

i had a bolt and socket on it for over 2 days fully tighten up, and sparying wd 40. but still being a bitch,

ill get the 7.5lbs hammer on it then and just keep drivin it,

Yeah mine was the same, only real ways of getting them out are a propper puller tool or a hammer and bar. Good luck with it mate
