Another "Weird Noise" Thread

   Hi,
   
   I've recently discovered a weird noise coming from the front of my car it's like something is rubbing/grinding but it's creating a kind of whistleing noise.
   
   The noise only happens when i lift my foot off the accelerator. When i accelerate it dissapears. I got this noise once shortly after i bought my car a couple of years ago and haven't heard it since but this past week it's happened twice.
   
   If i stop my engine and wait a minute / turn it back on it seems to dissapear so im not sure what it could be?
   
   If anyone has had a similar problem or has any idea what it could be, help would be appreciated

   This sounds very similar to the problem I'm having! Mine makes a rubbing/grinding noise when I lift off whilst driving, but as soon as I reapply the throttle it stops. I was assuming it was transmission related

   Sounds like a CV joint gone.
   
   Get the driveshaft changed

   i agree. inner cv joint
