Oil on MAP sensor...

  1. #1
Hi people, I have already posted this as part of another thread, but thought I would post a thread directly related to this, basically, Im trying to get to the bottom of a few issues and a bad idle and fuel economy that is getting worse by the week, I took the MAP sensor out to have a look at its condition and noticed that there is oil, or at least a dark substance that smells of oil, on the sensor, I will post some links to some pics I took of it, any help on this I would be grateful to receive

I didn't think oil should be there, but now I'm looking for where its come from, my first guess was the breather pipe, but I don't know how to take this off and clean it, or even if this is the problem

It would help me a lot if someone could help me

    Thanks

    Ben

Totally normal - with the standard oil breather system, you get a fine mist of oil going through the inlet.

Give it a spray with carb cleaner.

Oil wont kill it but anything sprayed on it containing silicone will!
