Clutch release bearing

   Could somebody please tell me some of the symptoms of a knackered clutch release/thrust bearing?

   Whining noise when the clutch pedal is de-pressed

   It does it whilst driving if I come of the throttle, mostly noticeable cruising in 5th around 50-60mph, is that a sign?
