hi i have a vts thats just undergone a turbo covnversion

The problem is its kicking out loads of white smoke that stinks of fuel

the turbo is a gt25 second hand water and oil cooled

when i did the conversion it had a new head gasket on to

now at the moment the car is not mapped so it overfueling running at 11.9 afr that might acount for the smell of unburnt fuel ?

the question is how can i tell if its the head gasket thats leaking or if the turbo is , i dont want to take the head of if its not that

or if its because of unburnt fuel

head up my arse over this well gutted any help would be great

    thanks

What makes you think its the head gasket? Is it losing water or oil?

looks like water smoke , but not a hundred % sure as its not pure white, but i thought if it was burning oil it would be darker

    white smoke means oil mate.

    black smoke is petrol

    Could be condesation?

Does it do it after a decent run or just on start up?

Running unmapped isn't going to help things!

i been looking at test kits but they only test to see if there is gases in the coolent ,

it could be just leaking oil into one chamber , or the turbo seals gone,

i just dont no how i can test for that i dont want to take the head of and then find out its the turbo seals that are gone

should i just take the oil feed of the turbo and run it and see if the smoke clears , or is that a bad idea

    is it losing water?
    is the oil level ok?

If it was a headgasket problem the smoke would be white
if it was burning oil it would be blue smoke
if it's not burning fuel then it's black

have you had the turbo checked out as that is easier to remove than the head on the car

hi been back to start car its blue smoke
the longer it runs the worse it gets, took the header cap of the rad to see if im loosing water and see if it bubbles like a clip i seen on you tube and its not so i asume the head gasket is ok and its not leaking water

is it safe to take the oil pipe feeding the turbo of and run it to see if its the turbo thats goosed
