Starter won't run over...

   Hi Guy's Newbie to the forum...
   Bought a 1.4 VSX on Tuesday needs bits of work but not much. Started fine this morning driving about come back home again. Went out again and when we come to get in the car put code in green light but starter wont turn, you get one load click thats it. Tried to check the starter relay but not sure where this is?
   Someone mentioned they had a similar problem and checked the relay under the ECU ( is this the starter relay ?) any Idea's cheers.
   It did bump start fine, then I got it home and turn it off and tried to start it again and it worked ok. Then tried it again after a coupe of hours and same again won't turn over?
   I'm thinking relay but not sure where this is? check citreon manual haynes, and did a search on here can't find much? any help

   Sounds like battery problems?

   Starter was fine. Yesturday I removed starter ( alot easier than I thought it would be).
   I tested the starter this worked fine, So I tested the wiring to the starter ythis was ok and working aswell ?? so I put the starter back in and it now works ? might have just needed a kick ?

   i would have said start was sticking.

   naffed battery or dodgy earth is first port of call, followed by starter

   Sorry to hijack the thread but sometimes my starter spins but the engine won`t fire,the fuel pump primes.Or the car will start & misfire & stink of fuel.It`s been suggested a faulty crank sensor any ideas?

   check the alternator

   Alternator is less than a year old same as the coil pack leads & recently changed the plugs so i`m stumped.

    Thanks for the reply 95% of the time it starts fine but every so often it has a problem whereby it either won`t fire or fires up then misfires & stinks of fuel then the eml comes on.

    i got same problem it starts now and then and sometimes it wont fire up but stinks of petrol would i be right in thinking crankshaft sensor?

    Well I can`t be 100% sure because I can`t get a diagnostics scanner that reads my ecu all the garages i`ve been to haven`t got the gear either.However a friends brother who`es a mechanic seems to think a faulty crank sensor.Plus for what the cheap price they cost it`s worth trying it.
