    problems problems haha hey guys

first of all sometimes the car starts first turn other time its takes a few turns plus a bit of accelerator pedal to get it going anyideas?

second knocking coming from the front of the car its really annoying the last owner said he had the drivers side drop link replaced but not the passenger side which he says needs changing anyideas?

third whats the rev limiter on the 99 model vtr? and how can i tell which engine i have got cheers all loving this site by the way

have u checked your air filter yet
  3. #3
yea i did mate and it was leacking and is all new with air filter but i have noticed that i think he has put the oil breather filter on wrong pipe i thought it should go onto of the rocker cover but hes got it connect to a large pipe that comes from the back of the throttle body somewhere?
  4. #4
mine is the same and runs fine the b filter might have had it
  5. #5
If it starts when you hit the gas then I would remove the throttle body and clean the whole lot including the ICV.

Knocking noise could be driveshaft or droplink....does it do it when turning or just when the wheels are straight?

its new to mate but what is the pipe it connects to? hes left the rocker cover pipe with out a filter on it so its just a open hole if you get me?
  7. #7
if i jump in car now and turn wheels lock to lock it wont make a noise but if i move and go over a bump it knocks i have jacked car up and checked for play in the wheel and there aint any play if i dont go over bumps there is no knocking what so ever?

That's an oil breather hose, usually connects to the air filter housing somewhere.
  9. #9
yeah you can put a breather filter on both i think
  10. #10
ahh so the oil breather hose goes down to near the sump and then there is a rocker cover breather pipe to?

The hose coming off the rocker cover is the oil breather pipe and connects to the air filter box on a normal setup but aftermarket induction kits normally have a connector for the pipe also.

    No worries mate

I would get a garage to take a look at the knocking so they can tell you what it is, it will likely be something cheap, especially if you can fit the part yourself.

my engine bit different from yours i got coilpack and its silver? i can see the rocker cover oil breather pipe i know what that is but i got a bigger pipe from the back of engine with a breather filter on it to lol
  16. #16

When you say 'the back of the engine'....do you mean the back of the rocker cover itself or the back of the head/block of the engine?
  18. #18
yea at the blockmate all i can see its a rubber pipe traveling to behind the throttle body between the head and throttle body?
  19. #19
so i dont have anyideas what that pipe is lol
