Ok where to start recently my car developed problem reving up and down like yoyo on its own while driving down road. Note it does not do it when at ilde thou. knw i have replaced gasket between intake mani and carb (throttle body) also put some gel type stuff seal it as it petrol proof and all tht. anyway worked for bit ok started doing it again today. and mt actual throttle pedal inside car moves as it does it weird
i can take foot of acceleration pedal and it will go itself. Not 100% sure could be ar leak somewhere gonna try once cooled down with carb cleaner. i have 1.1 saxo 2000 model. any other idea i heard could be coil pack problem too. any ideas please say thanks

#2use the search button i think its something like the air flow meter needs cleaning or something like that .
-
#3you mean idle air control valve? or something else
-
#4Check your idle control valve mate.
-
#5Tryed mate cleaned carb and tht but i cant get idle control valve out without breaking the casing around it as i pull clips back tiny bit they fall off and break
looks like might need buy new one dang thing

#6Can it be lamba sensor also ? can that cause it rev on its on up and down also could it be coil pack?
-
#7if it is going up and down i would say icv also.
-
#8hi thnaks info but what mean by icv not knowledged on all terms yet lol
-
#9(intake control valve or somethink ?
-
#10idle control valve.
If you have cleaned everything then try replacing that. -
#11aww yeh im dipshit lol i knw icv is lol yeh cleaned it all. so replace tht will sort it ? as i heard can be alot things like coilpack or lamba sensor aswell ?
-
#12yeah should do mate from you have told us.
You could get lambda and coilpack tested at a garage with a multimeter. -
#13Idle control, to be fair I wouldnt be that worried about it if its reving at like 100rpm
-
#14most likely to be the ICV dude get it whipped out and a new one chucked in should sort it out
-
#15if your pedal is moving while its doing it its either the throttle cable or possibly the spring on the throttle body, nothing would make the pedal move inside the car sensor wise
-
#16When the ICV is changed for a replacement unit is there anything else to be done?
Does the ECU automatically re-learn the new part? -
#17thanks for info guys will get new icv tomoz first see if sorts the prob out
-
#18Turn the ignition on and off 6 times waiting 10 seconds or so between each time then start the car on the 7th time, this sets it to the right positionQuote:When the ICV is changed for a replacement unit is there anything else to be done?

Did this (in this order):

Replaces Temp Sensor (Green Plug)
It was resolved on the last step -
