knackered thermostat cause th temp gague overheating light to stay on along with the fan?
  2. #2
does the top hose get hot
  3. #3
    sure does.

i'm just wondering cause i plugged into it at work and put the code into autodata and this is one of the probable causes. already changed the top sensor but hot air comes out of heaters, but the top rad hose is very very very very hot. to the point you could scold yourself poss lol

so waters going through the stat i reckon its worth a try changing stat
  5. #5
sounds like stat is stuck open also could be a air lock in water system from when you changed the sensor

Yes it would although not on a saxo it happened to me on an Austin metro.

its possible but id be suprised if that is the thermostat, i take it if your working in a garage you know how to test one so just do that, takes about 5 minutes if that.

Problem sounds more like a leak/airlock

Partial blockage in radiator or faulty water pump?
  10. #10
It wouldn`t hurt to flush the radiator,if there`s hot air from the blowers I wouldn`t of thought there`s too much of an air lock though.

water pump is new just currently got the stat on the hob we'll see if it opens but it has come away from the plastic houseing so i think that maybe the problem.

EDIT; stat opened going to put the new one in anyway and bleed the system a few times.

keep us posted mate also what car is this for cos dont you have a car your breaking if so pull rad of that
  13. #13
for my 2001 furio mate, could do but i think that is worse wise than mine as there is oil in coolant aswell. flushed rad again and all clear not a hint of rust/ crap.
  14. #14
if you suspect your furio one is fucked then flush the other 1 about 10 times till clear water comes out and pop it on see if it works if it does go and buy a new rad

tbf mate i don't think the problem is with the cooling system it'self more electrical or thinking about it could my gague be fubar'd ? cause it never seems to go above 1/2 way and even with the two sensors dissconnected it still goes up
