    do induction kits even help or is this a myth on a 1.4 - i thinking just drill a hole in the standard?

    Lol def wouldn't bother drilling holes that just daf. and any difference in mpg with induction kits would be small. Best thing is to give it a
    service I normally average 40+mpg on my vtr

    how much is typical service ? iam bit of a noob my first car you see.

    Perfect time to give it a bash yourself!
    Service can be in the region £100 from dealers. Grab yourself some tools, a Haynes and do a search on here for guides, then give it a go yourself.

    In answer to your question. I won't affect it badly unless you're mashing the throttle everywhere.

    Get a haynes manual for £15 then parts for service: spark plugs £10, oil £15 filters £20 should cover it. Or a garage would charge about £80 at a guess as I always do own. If you can read and hold a
