I don't believe that at all. But yeah pretty easy to do mate just take your time and may as well use fresh gear box oil. Watch out for the old box oil because it stinks. Oh and you will need a 30mm socket for the drive shaft nuts.

    Good advice peeps

also on the drivers side shaft, you will need to undo the 2x 8/9mm nuts from the carrier

plus on saxo's you cant change just the cv joints....its the whole shaft.

I paid £180 for both brand new on my VTS

Theres a refill point at the top of it under the battery tray, has a plastic cover on it.

just got back from garage, paid £180 for 2 brand new drive shafts, and they changed gearbox oil.

the cars been transformed, shafts must have been on their way out for a while, it handles a 100 times better.

i also had a clunking when changing gear which made changes sloppy, changing the gearbox oil has fixed this also! i was thinking it was engine mounts and all sorts, shows should always look at the more simple things first.

no it's not. the re-fill is on the side of the gearbox. just above where you drain it. it's dead easy to spot looks just like the drain plug, but the front part of the innerwing needs to be moved to get one of thoes 1ltr re-fill bottles inproperly.
