Loud distinct knocking when accelerating in low gears

   Hi on my 02 VTR I experience a very loud knocking noise when accelerating through 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
   Admittedly, the acceleration is rather hard, but I'm puzzled as to what the sound is...
   In my head it sounds like it is coming from the front right of the engine, or behind the drivers head light
   
   Any ideas?

   is it a knock when you change gear, or the whole way through the gear?

   It'd be at the start gear as I accelerate but only under hard acceleration

   Might have a go at recording the sound and posting on here
   It's a consistent knock until about 3k rpm when accelerating hard in the first 3 gears
   To me it sounds like its around the ecu/alternator side of the engine
   But it must be loud if I can hear it inside the car!

   Might be exhaust knocking against back axle or the engine mounts gone. Try going along in like second and tap the throttle and if it knocks then it will be engine mount!

   I've done the exhaust, and it won't make that noise

   I had a knocking in my old clio, before upgrading to a sax. It was the lower engine mount worn, does the gear stick move while accelerating or depressing the clutch?
