    As said in the title..
I'm looking for a set of white headlight bulbs which ARE NOT HID's

I've bought two sets now which claimed to be a 'brilliant white' but they are actually yellow..

just wondering if anyone has a set of white headlights that they could recommend me?

Well there are alternatives - I had this dilemma a while back before having HID's. MTEC Super White H4 100W give a great white effect, and have a very similar HID effect to them when you look at them. The bulb itself is coated blue not to give off a blue light, but because the blue colour cancels out the yellow from the halogen and gives a white colour.

I know 100W is technically illegal, but because it has a colour coating on the bulb, getting the 55W won't be as bright as normal H4 bulbs as it's blocking the light. The 100W's power through the colour coating a lot better, so you get bright white-ish lights

    Here they are:

The bulbs look a little blue-ish in the pictures, they're actually white with a nice blue sparkle to them. MTEC Super White's give the above effect, whilst MTEC Cosmo Blue give a more deeper HID effect, similar to 8000k HID's.

Don't forget though, they only 'look' better - they don't actually improve brightness at all.

    Hope that's helped bud.

Out of interest, I had HID's for £35 on eBay from a company in the UK, with a years guarantee. I've fitted them in my bog standard reflector housing but had to have glare shields. They don't blind anyone thanks to the shields and they're amazing.. so why don't you do this? HID's don't have to be expensive..

Thanks for your help mate, them bulbs look pretty good might have to get a pair of them

the reason i've swaying from the HID's is because i already had them fitted on the car but got a bit of attention from the police and had to get them removed, so i'm looking for just white headlights, dont really care about the brightness

You'd have problems with the police if they're glaring other drivers, which is exactly the problem you'll get if you fit HID's into normal reflector housing. They'll appear way too bright.

I've got HID's in mine. You need to fit those shields so that they don't blind other drivers at all - they just greatly improve your sight. The beam pattern's good with the shields and I've never been flashed once. May be worth looking into
