Random Reving

   Hi.
   
   My saxo decides to rev at about 2000rpm randomly, it sometimes reaches 4000rpm. It doesn't do it all the time though. this could be at any time when driving.
   
   Any Ideas what it could be?

   Sounds like a sticky throttle cable, disconnect the throttle cable, get a little bit of oil and pour it down the little gap in between the cable and outer casing. Pull the cable through a few times and reconnect, should be alright after that.
   
   Another option is to buy another throttle cable

   could also be the icv getting worn out or possibly a vacuum leak

   first thing i'd try would be take throttle body off clean it all out and clean the ICV.
   Mine rev'd to 2000rpm randomly when my idle control valve was full of muck.

   hi m8 just remove icv two torx from behind give it a good clean then take the car for a good drive should be fine .........revving its tits off is ICV

   Definitely clean the ICV as first port of call.
