Weight Saving

I removed the rear seats yesterday to take some stuff to the dump. I'm surprised how much weight is in them, considering they are only seats.

The rear wiper motor is quiet heavy too for the size of it and the spare wheel is just stupidly heavy.

What else have you done to remove weight? I'm guessing the roof lining would weigh some too, along with the insulation in the bonnet and engine bay.

Toke off my doors and boot lid gets a bit cold in the winter though..

take out all the sounded deadening behing the door cards, boot floor, floor. Weighs a ton and tbh, doesn't make it much louder!

EDIT there is a "how much it weighs" thread in the track section if you want to look at it!

it makes a canny bit difference, depends how far you want to go?

i have removed almost everything from mine, it just has one seat, and a set of clocks, no dash heaters or anything, no wiper motor at the rear, no interior, next on the list of things to come out are the electric window motors and central locking, poly carbs instead of glass windows and the sunroof (which is heavy as fook!)

butits harsh with nothing in it lol

Behind the dash is a fook load of sound deadening on the bulkhead not too hard to remove but will take you few hours as the dash and heater matrix will have to come out. Be careful removing too much from the rear because it makes for a lively rear end.
