Mk1 vts alarm help

  1. #1
So unplug negative on battery to enable me to remove airbag and steering wheel.

Removed both, tucked airbag wire away as new steering wheel doesn't have an airbag.

Fitted new wheel and put back together then plugged the negative back on to battery and the alarm started going off.

Now the alarm goes off constantly and the immobiliser keypad light is always green when the ignition is on so no need to put in the code.

    Any ideas?

Dan had something similar with my vts I simply locked the doors and unlocked did the trick for me
btw you do know from next year airbags are part of the MOT, along with a whole host of other electronic equipment thats fitted but currenlty not tested

Cheers steve, tried that but no luck. Seems il be getting an alarm sooner than expected.

Steering wheel will be put back to standard for mot along with the exhaust, passed mot Monday so ok for another year.

Will have to read up these new rules, any idea where you can read them. Dvla maybe?
