Removing hubs from trailing arms

  1. #1
Has anyone removed the hubs off a rear beam? They seem really awkward to get off as the 4 bolts are underneath the hub itself.

Ive got a new beam that hasnt got the hubs on but ive got some hubs that are on the trailing arm that need taking off and fitting onto the beam.

Isn't there a nut in the middle of the hub that comes off then slide off hub to get to the bolts??

+1 pretty sure you`re right you need a breaker bar & socket to remove it.Edit just read the above posts I maybe wrong lol.

There is a bolt at the back or trailing arm but that doesnt really seem to do anything from what it looks like on other beam without hubs as there is a threaded bit at start of the round part which the hub and square fit onto and bolts to trailing arm.

Yeah you will, the nut holds the rear wheel bearing assembly in place, with this removed you can easily access the 4 bolts the OP is trying to get to, if i'm home before its dark i'll get some photo's of what i'm on about from a spare axle i have

I went and asked someone locally and they said in the middle of the hub theres like a cap and the bolt is underneath but just been and checked and its like one solid piece with the hub as apposed to being a cap there so how do i get to the bolt thats underneath the hub?
