exterior colour coordination

  1. #1
Hey guys, just wondering about colour coordinating exterior parts.

I've just sprayed my citroen sign on the front illuminous orange and was wondering what other parts you guys think would look good without going over the top?

    Cheers...

    Mirror Caps,
    Rear Badges,
And maybe alloys or just the lip but that's it.
  3. #3
i was thinking the badges, mirror caps and alloys myself. Maybe then make a start on the inside and do the fabric on the door cards. seen quite a nice guide on here.
  4. #4
    Should look quite smart,
Maybe try black vts alloys with a orange lip that'd look wicked.
  5. #5
well atm i've got a black vts with gloss black vts alloys. But...i was looking at Team dynamics pro race 1.2. and noticed you can get them in orange
  6. #6
Good call, pro race 1.2's are nice would look good,
Get a photo up of the Sax.
  7. #7
this is it. not a very good photo like...

  8. #8
Maybe the boot trim around the lock, you could spray that orange.Just keep it subtle.
  9. #9
i'm liking that idea too. i don't have a lock on the boot, been (bodged) smoothed over by the previous owner and had an electric locking mechanism fitted.

Also debadged the back, so instead of buying badges i could just do the lock surround thing.

thinking about selling my alloys so i can afford the pro races but it will be like a magnet for the local rats
  11. #11
    I'll give £50 for them
  12. #12
    hehe, maybe not

Needs to get me £500 for the pro races
  13. #13
    Yeeee..
You'll only have to find the remaining £450 that's not much,
Giving you a bargain here £55? Haha
  14. #14
lol. How much they go for in the for sale section?

I can't get in there yet
  15. #15
    About £40 at the most..
    Depends on tread,
    Not much now days.
Get 100 posts then you can get into it
    I'll have a look now.
  16. #16
nightmare. are there any GTi leathers in there? lol i'd quite like some of those
  17. #17
do the wing mirror covers just pop off or are they bolted on from the inside?
  18. #18
They just pop off, get a old bank card something so you don't damage the paint,
Also theirs nothing in for sale section either for S alloys or GTI leathers unfortunately.
  19. #19
ahh kk, got the covers off, snapped the bloody clips though.

Gonna get them primed today, pain them tomorrow and laquer them on tuesday
  20. #20
    Which side did you snap?
  21. #21
    Both lol. :-(
  22. #22
    Tiger seal job then haha,
You have to do it gently ha
  23. #23
I tried. :-( bit heavy handed sometimes lol. What is tigerseal?
  24. #24
    Tiger seal?
It's a sealent that once applied will never come off afterwards haha
  25. #25
Super glue? Lol. Same sorta stuff or...
  26. #26
    Not even close..
This stuff will never and i stress on the word never come off ha.
  27. #27
Lol, can you get it from halfrauds?
  28. #28
    Halfords ha, Naah..
Probably at main motor mechanic store or a specialist store.
  29. #29
ahh right, cool. best get me some of that then. tigerseal FTW

almost finished primer. should i wait 24 hours before going any further?
  30. #30
    Ye leave it till tomorrow,
Then when you respray try and find a cool dry place to spray just below room temperature would be perfect.
  31. #31
Cool, hopefully they will look nice and shiney with the laquer on :-D
  32. #32
done my mirror covers. now thinking the sides look a little too.....black.

Is rim tape any good? thinking of doing the lip of my gloss black VTS alloys untill i can afford some pro race 1.2's...which may be a while.
  33. #33
my colour scheme is also black and orange mate some pics of mine

hope this gives you some ideas
  34. #34
This looks really nice mate. i was thinking about doing the spoiler but i didn't know if it would be too much.

Yours looks really good. I am definately gonna do the rear badges, and i fancy getting some orange wheels.
  35. #35

Wow. You need tyre shine. Badly.

    And lows...
    And smoked headlights...
  38. #38
tbh, i think i just need some new tyres. hehe

and i plan on lowering it as soon as i can afford it...along with a good few other mods, i.e. manifold, exhaust, bmc cda some either angel eyes or smoked headlights and some smoked tail lights.
  39. #39
this used to be so pretty...

  40. #40
i know, the guy i bought it off stripped everything off it and sold it to me pretty much standard. i think the only things left on it are the lightened flywheel and engine mounts.

The guy who i bought it off had bought it off the person in the above picture. Unfortunately i think it was stripped down just so the last owner could make a few more quid in selling it.
  41. #41
he had it for two years before you lol
  42. #42
Check out saxo180's old black and orange VTS, back from when it looked ok.

There has only ever been that and that Andy's that were done properly (even though saxo180's was better )
  43. #43
i'll have to check those out later, at work atm....getting some dodgy looks do get off my arse
  44. #44
just looked at saxo180's and it does look very nice.

I like the headlights....what are they? does anyone know?

They're kinda like projectors but without the clear cover.
  45. #45
im from forest hall mate and spoiler was easy, i just took it off (2 bolts threw back window) then rubed it down with this sanding pad thing then hung it from a washing line and primered, painted and laquered
  46. #46
them lights your on about sound like morettes mate and i like them but they are abit pricey
