saxo bodykit

#299% of fibreglass bodykits don't fit very well and need quite abit of modification to fit well
-
#3Looks like a decent looking body kit unlike some of the corny ones i've seen. Just don't go too over the top. :-(
-
#4i was thinking the same, i love dimma kits but just cant justify the price

Ask saxowebby as I think it's the same with some smoothing here and there -
#7yes it is the same kitQuote:http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...&postcount=395

#8looks mint when fitted
-
#9Not to difficult to fit, but getting it flush is hard. Was your mate screwing and bonding it on? Nice kit tho mate
-
#10won't sit flush and will crack progressively. Avoid, especially when it says "affordable body kits" on the lower right corner. Go have a look on http://www.barryboys.co.uk to see how it gets.
-
#11i didnt want it to over the top just wide arches and a bonnet and spoiler but wont look right so need a subtle kit that keeps saxos lines
-
#12Then you'll realize you "need" (for lack of a better word) some spacers because the wheels don't fill the arches. equals bye bye to your handling (including the increased drag from that mong front)and 3 point turns. The kit will crack, the paint will flake around the cracks, it will move with every bump with increasing gaps. The resale value will drop as it will scream chav boyracer
You've been told but go ahead if your mind is set. -
#13isnt that the titan kit? well all i can say is the only time i have ever seen a fashion bodykit last, is on show cars that aren't peoples dailys, otherwise i think you'd just be constantly respraying it and filling it. of course, if you reckon you can do it, do it, its your car bud

EDIT: Dimma kits always look alright, and they seam more praised than these ones.... do some research, fnd a decent manufacturer, spend the money and do it right and youll be in for a winner
-
#14If you just want to widen the arches can't you just buy arches instead of fitting a kit that (as someone has already said) will ruin the resale value of the car?
Maybe just doing the odd few bits will make it more aesthetically pleasing
-
#15that was my thought in the first place but havent seen any arches that fit standard skirts or bodylines. i was thinking about doing one off arches in steel but not sure.
-
#16Wings west = the best imo
-
#17it would be a bit hard to get a kit from them for a mk1 saxo when they dont list one.
-
#18i used tiger seal and tbh wasnt that hard to fit, its getting it to look right thats the problem.
-
#19just dont get a bodykit, slam your sax, looks as good, and not as chavvy (y)
-
#20is there anything you can do to a flat arch body that gives it wider arches but not as much as buying a vt kit ?
-
#21Thats definatly a question for a bodyshop, naturally anythings possible if you've got the money but i completely understand that you'd rather get a generic kit instead of the dimma for cost reasons & wide arches instead of the kit.
Have you ever thought of taking the wing off and taking that to a bodyshop then getting a fibreglass replica made with the widened flare incorporated into the design?
Get it sprayed and laqured to match the cars colour?
(A job for you to keep costs down)
Just a thought.
