Hi all, iv ordered a new sensor for my vts as the idle is shit ! It's the green sensor, coolant temp sensor.... Question, how do I fit It ?? I may sound thick, but I honestly don't kbow haha. Any help would be grateful . cheers all.

this is on my vtr but i would imagine its similar, just undo the old one, mine was a 19mm spanner iirc and have the new sensor to hand to put back in quickly so you don't create an air lock in the system then obviously just tighten back up and plug in

I take it you'll need to consider coolant loss?

I have no idea. Was going to try it myself. I've seen a few threads that ay its easy, but don't actually say how easy.

Cheers Ben, ill try when the part comes.

Ok, I just took the sensor off..... The revs shot up. Does that mean its ok ??

also dont overtighten it and its a 19mm long socket you will loose about 100ml of coolant if your qiuck

also your sig is wicked bigdazza

have the revs shot up with the new sensor in?

No, I just read on here that if you take of off and the revs drop, then that was the prob... Mine went up Haha... I'm heading to the garage to get a Fuck off great big hammer and I'm going to hurt the little paxo

dont run the car with no sensor mate and when you replace it before you drive off check to make sure heaters kick out warm air to make sure there's no air lock

i knew what you ment cos i feel like smashing mine to bits sometimes but i love it to pieces lol i was just making sure you dont run it without sensor because ive know people do it and fuck the car up

Haha, I did see a post where someone wrote " start the car up, then take it off ' ! I'll persist, im sure its just something daft. It's had a new icv, so it cant be that unless its a shit one.. I cant tell as the previous owner changed it.

if u unplug sensors with ignition on u will fuck the ecu

I have just spoken to the lad who owned the car before me, he said he brought a very cheap icv off ebay... Think that may be It to fair. New one ordered.

probably is that mate definately worth spending the money on a good quality icv, tried cheap ones on mine and they never work as they should, got an original quality 'VDO' part and that made it much better.
