#2new buffer plus change bottom torq mount and gearbox mount i hd this problem it was the other mounts were fucked putting strain on the ecu mount
-
#3ah really? i may have to look into that then thanks! so new rubber should solve it for a while until pay day when i can replace the rest?
-
#4my bet is its the lower mount because when thats broke the engine swings back and forth the lower mount has to pressed in tho buddy so its a garage job im afraidQuote:ah really? i may have to look into that then thanks! so new rubber should solve it for a while until pay day when i can replace the rest?
dont drive car with shit mounts bcos you will put strain on your gearbox -
#5ah Sh*t :l maybe have to find someone thats got one for sale lol..
-
#6You got it running then, what was it mate?
-
#7As above, the other mounts will put stress on the mount your replacing causing it to snap/shear off.
-
#8ah poo.. well looks like ill be getting new ones then... take it it cant be driven?
-
#10opps.. ive been driivng it today.. as i didnt realise that it had broken.. lol only thing is.. i cant move the bolt from under with my fingers like last time.. but i can wiggle the engine quite a bit..
-
#11As most have said probably lower gearbox mount, i thought mine had gone as my engine rocked back a forth a lot, jacked it up and found one of the bolts into gearbox casing missing and the other was half out, replaced and tightened up and this has solved the problem so far
-
#12there were actuslly bolts missing? not on the mount.. but the actualy box? what ones were missing?
-
#13The front of the mount bolts onto the gearbox casing it was one of these missing, didn't affect the box at all get the feeling someone had done some work to it and only put them back in finger tight, thought it might be worth checking mate
-
#14yeah i might have a check.. it only had a gearbox change yesterday!
-
#16Aha! It felt fine today
will the engine have a bit of play? As like I say last time the bolt was loose and could spin it with my fingers? This time its not?
-
#17if you want to change the lower mount yourself you could get a powerflex they don't need to be pressed in.. you could probably press in a normal one in if you have a big vice though actually.
-
#18Yeah I might look at Getting a standard one from euro for like 13 quid.. Until payday and get better ones...
-
#19Yes it will have play, just be careful i`ve seen engine mounts go & in doing so twist the engine & by doing this it`s snapped the exhaust manifold/downpipe off.Quote:Aha! It felt fine today

#20Ah no! I'm going to get it checked tomorrow as it's not shaking and vibrating like last time...
