Front wipers work for a bit then stop

   The missus' 1.1 x reg again.
   
   The front wipers will work for a while and then just stop. Switch the car off for a while and try them again and they'll work for a bit and then stop again.
   
   I've had the plastic cover off so i could see the mechanism working... It looks ok and runs fine with no wipers attached. But it does sound a bit clunky.
   
   I've removed what must've been a tree's worth of leaves and twigs from below the plastic cover and had hoped that they were causing the problem but it hasn't made it any better.
   
   Any ideas?

   Check the relay is something I would do personally first.

   Will do, what should I be looking out for / how do I check it - I know nothing about electrics.

   The positioning of the relay depends on the model I believe as some have gloveboxes and others dont, its usually a blue block.

   If it`s not that then it may be the wiper stalk that is faulty cheap & easy to replace,go for the relay 1st though.
