Couple of loud clicks when opening/closing driver's door?

I can see at the front just inside the door this thing (door stay?) with a couple fo screws and it moves up a bit just as the door clicks. Sounds like something either needs greasing or is on its way out?
Thanks

Get some spray grease & spray it on the stay & on the hinges. If the stay breaks then it can cause some nasty damage to both the door & wing.People neglect to lubricate these areas when servicing a car(not everyone)

Mine was doing the same and it sheered off completely :/ The door is still fine, just have no door stops and have to be careful that the wind doesn't catch it...
...at least it's quiet.

I think you're talking about the check strap, grease it and tighten the screws, that should stop it moving about and therefore stop the noise.

Door check straps that mount to the door. The 2 10mm bolts pull through the thin metal of the moutning point on the door itself. Find 2 big washers with small centres (8mm iirc), remove the 10mm nuts and put the washers on before replacing the nuts. Will be fine after that as long as theres a reasonable surface for them to get a grip onto.

Tighten the tweo 10mm nuts holding the mechanism to the inside of the door. Promise you it's the problem.
what krisb said above and get some spray grease in there aswell did it to mine and has been fine for over 8months now

stopped doing it this morning sadly, can see a hole where a screw used to be so guessing summinks dropped into the door cavity - opens and closes dead quiet but gotta watch for the wind catching it
