Clutch...Bite a Bit High

  1. #1
Hi everyone. Now, clutch is not slipping BUT bite is a little high, the last inch or so actually. I've found a section under the bonnet where you can seem to adjust it. Would you do this?! Clutch does not seem to be slipping so should be fine.

The adjuster just changes the clutch pedal height and not the clutch itself. If the bite is high then it will not be long before the clutch dies.

Maybe worth having it replaced before it does go? It could last ages like the way it is now it may not up to you

The bite being high doesn't always mean it's about to go.

If it doesn't slip then I wouldn't worry.

Why get something changed if it's not broken? Way to waste money...

Thanks for the advice guys. It had a new clutch cable a few months back and thats why I thought it could have been over-adjusted on fitting??

How much is a clutch for Saxo anyway? VTR?

devilsadvocate, I get what you mean about not broken don't fix I think I go looking for trouble alot of the time. New cat coming up in a few weeks, £210...all good fun

I changed my clutch and it wasnt slipping and the bite was the same.

I will try post a pic but my old clutch was worn down so bad it didnt have long left.

tbh clutch change has been the best thing ive done on my car made everything smooth and such a better drive

just adjusts the pedal, if the pedals too high adjust it to lower it. should be roughly same height as brake pedal

he said above is good advice , i know so many people who fix things that are not broken and end up making things worse or just finding another problem or making something else worse . and my clutch has a very high bite like yours and people always said to me its a sign its about to go but its never slipped and still doesnt and ive had my car for 14 months now
