Spraying wind advice

  1. #1
Finnally fitted my VT kit, however when doing it I spilled some bonder around the edges of the paint work. I managed to get this off but as you would expect it took the paint with it.

I went over it in a matt black that I had in the garage to prevent rust but now need to spray the wing up properly.

Ive purchased white primer, gloss black and laquer.

Is gloss black the same colour as citoren black, most people said it was my best option. Any advice etc on how you would do it would be great, im a decent sprayer but havnt ever touched metal work, have done bumpers and wheels previously tho.

    Thanks guys.

Yeah it will citroen black has no tinter's.

For a starter you got the wrong colour primer. should be dark grey or black not white.

Second of all you are doing it with aerosol so its never going to be fantastic especially in black.

Best way is to prime it leave it for 24 hours then flat the primer with 600 wet and dry along with the rest of the wing.
Then mask up and paint the black all over a good 4-5 decent coats. leave it for about a week and then flat the finish with 1500-2000 wet and dry then go at it with with some polishing compound until you get a good glossy finish.

My advice is to get it done in 2 pac paint in a booth and baked you will never get a finish like it by spray cans.

Or buy another wing in the same colour whichever is cheapest.
