can anyone shed some light please?

Okay, so I've just picked up another saxo vtr on a '99 t reg however:

It's been lowered and on the rear, one side sits higher than the other - any ideas what to do with it? I want to lower it some more anyway so do i just lower one side more than the other or is it likely that there's a problem with it/lowered incorrectly?

It has a mk2 98bhp engine, but its still running a single plug ecu - is this ok? And how has it been done? Spliced looms or something?

Also the temp gauge isn't working - could this be to do with the engine change?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance

    Definatly been lowered incorectly!

When you pull the torsion bars out either side of the beam, you rasie either side of the axel individualy however many clicks / splines you need.

If your lowering it again its worth taking both sides out greasing and checking everything etc.
And ensure that each side sits at the same height.

Either that or a shock has blown.

(croocked neck.....flat tire.....uneven drive) these are all common factors to take into account.

don't do it by splines lol, you just need to measure the same distance each side.

I know how your supposed to do it as I lowered my last one taking yhe torsion bars out measuring and re-fitting etc, just unsure how to go about this and its not tyres or uneven surface etc...

take them out, the hub will drop, but not dramatically, about 10mm lower than OE height.
    measure from there.

Do technically if i want it down 60mm, measure it hanging without the torsion bars in and take 70mm off the distance?

its only roughly, depending on bearings / bushings will effect how it drops.

strip it down, before you remove the bars measure from the lip of the hub to your arch, and what you think it currently is, then measure when its dropped to see what the difference it from stock height to where it was. if that makes sense.

sounds like stevie wonder lowered it :/

    Ok then mate, cheers xxx

Yeah my bad, didnt actually mean measure it by the splines lol

Sounds to me like the shocks just gone, would be suprised if someone lowered it incorrectly like that. Give it a good press on the back corners that should give you an indication

Anyone have any ideas about the engine?

This could be many of things a simple wire not being plugged in, a faulty gauge, or a faulty sensor. check the wiring, if its had an engine change, then the chances are, a wire has been forgotten about. just find a wiring diagram for your car, its on the forums somewhere, and see if its all plugged in

Hopefully ill get time to look at it at work tomorrow but its also had the clocks changed for the later white ones, bit theyre not from a vtr as the only go to 120, this could also have something to do with it I'm guessing. Too much to think about lol :/

    shocks don't affect ride height.

engine is a cross over mate, single plug mk2 iirc.

temp gauge will most likely be unrelated.

It's not a crossover, its definitely the later 98bhp engine running on a single plug ecu
