#4when it doesnt save any stations or the time, in my experience there is 2 wires that need to be switched around. i cant remember off the top of my head what colours they are. i'm sure they are red and yellow but dont quote me on it

#5Yeh i heard about that on another forum, but at the moment i'm wondering what the f*ck is that red wire doing there lol?Quote:when it doesnt save any stations or the time, in my experience there is 2 wires that need to be switched around. i cant remember off the top of my head what colours they are. i'm sure they are red and yellow but dont quote me on it
Ive also got a random blue & yellow wire thats doing nothing, cant be right?

#8That looks a mess you need to get yourself a wiring diagram and a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing to sort that out.
As for your radio stations you should have a constant 12v feed to the yellow wire on the back of your head unit. A switched 12v feed to the red wire on the back of the head unit. The blue wire on the head unit is often the power switch feed for the amp / electronic antenna.
The wires that you are holding in your hand are all speaker wires. The big yellow one looks like the 12v constant or switched live and i cant see any other.1 user thanked this post: -
#9im no good with that shit lol, how much would it cost, and where would i take it to to have it done mate?

#10Hate to say it but depending on your Halford's they might do it just depends if they have some one who has a clue. Have a ask around in your regional section mate I am sure some one will be able to sort it for you if you include some beer tokens.

they'd probably charge me £60 f that lol
And hmm where can I get a wiring diagram from? Its a 1.4 if that helps

#12And also that red wire, does not budge! i feel as if i try pull it up towards me its gonna rip :/
-
#13Haynes manual has wiring diagrams in it and will be best but there is this.

But you need to put the red to the yellow wire an the yellow wire to the red wire to keep your stations. -
#14trial and error is what i used in my old 1.1
the wires were a fucking mess, so i just adjusted the headunit to each speaker separately, then tested each wire until i got a positive sound, after about an hour it was all done, i knew which wire was which and taped them all up correctly. -
#15swap the yellow and red cable! the ones that are connected seperatly to all the rest!
-
#16pointless atm mate my cd players broke hopefully my new one comes tomorrow, and ye i read about swapping the red and yellow wire just worried about the loose red yellow and blue wire comin from the back
-
#17blue wire is remote cable for when you have an amp fitted
-
#19need to pay someone to sort out all my wiring lol im uselesss
-
#20Change the switched live before din plugs by swapping the thin and thick grey wires
