Can i get a Ptttsssshhhhh… sound on my standered saxo 1.4 furio???
  2. #2
not unless you fit a turbo, you can get dump valve simulators but thats just lame.

You could carry an Aerosol can around with you and spray it occassionally or shake up a bottle of coke and open it but that might be quite messy.

    lmao!

the ptttttttttsshhh sounds comes from your dump valve, meaning you gotta get your saxo turbo'd.

What every you do, dont buy one of the shitey fake dumps off of eGay

i dont see how you can as theres nothing to dump. unless the car wants to shit out of the valve

lol ino just saying but they must make them for a reason or whats the point in making them ?
  12. #12
not really sure. my mate has a fake one on his focus.its a switch on the bottom of the accelerator pedal so when your foot is down the switch is pushed in then when your foot comes up it releases the switch which send a signal down a wire into a wee sound box under the hood.sound quality to be honest but its silly.
  13. #13
To relieve the build up of pressure when you let your foot the throttle. The boost has no where to go if a d-valve/wastgate is not fitted. Dump valves are not for performance, but wastgates are.

Dumps are on the inlet side and the gates are out the exhaust side.

Dumps are suposed to relive the stress on the turbocharger bearing too.

dump valves are there to stop turbo lag as when the throttle body is closed the pressure is forced back onto the turbo blades so when you go to put the boot down after a gear change it causes lag therefor the dump vlave dump the excess pressure into the atmosphere

I think its a boy racer thing personally. Huge external wastegates and a screamer pipe for me!
  16. #16
Yeah but the term lag is used incorrectly these days. People descibe lag as a section of the rev range is not " making full boost " which is wrong.
  17. #17
yeah i think it it boy racer stuff. my mates evo 2 has a recirculating dump valve and i think its much better all round
  18. #18
Recirculating dump are the ones to go for although I went for the atmospheric variety becuase I'd always wanted one.

It does get on your nerves after a couple of hours driving though but you could make different noises depending on how you let the trottle off which was amusing if not childish.

i just love the sound of them if i had the spare cash id get one.
  20. #20
Once you've had one the novelty wears off I'd go for recirculating on the next turbo'd car i have.

read the thread and stop making stupid posts
