advice vts conversion

    Hi after a bit of advice i av a 02 vtr and lad at work has a rolled 51 vts he said I can have engine and everything else I want off it for cheap,he said engine still starts and runs fine and my gearbox is on they way out just thinkin for the price of a second hand gearbox I could do a conversion,is it a case of just swap everything over and is it with the hassle or shall i just get a gearbox?any advice welcome cheers

    Just buy the whole car off him mate although people say just get the ecu lump and box you also need a lot more.

    If you can get the whole car cheap, buy it and break it once you've taken the bits you need.

    The actual conversion's quite simple, as long as you unlock the ECU from the VTS you shouldn't come across any problems.
    There's plenty of threads on the actual conversion, just have a little search.

    take the full car if you can and use it as a donor

    with it being a vts it will be easy to break aswell stuff from them is in quite a demand, I know theres a few things id take off you given the chance front calipers master cylinders etc
