nosie tappets... on a vts.

   Hello, my vts has started to sound rather tappy, could my tappets been in need of changing, or is the oil in my engine be crap.. I just checked and its almost clear if you know what i mean..

   Well as you probably know on a vts the tappets aren`t adjustable,one thing you could try is a thicker engine oil.

   That was my next port of call mate. The oil in the at the moment is like water, so ill do a oil change and try a thicker one .

   try some forte hydraulic valve lifter treatment when you refill the oil as well

   I'll give thay ago. Any ideas on the sort of oil that may make it sound better..

   i'd use factory spec oil tbh, if the stuff thats in it is old and thin then thats half your problem, thicker oil is just a bodge to mask a problem
