Handbreak Light?
-
#1
-
#2Checked brake fluid level?
-
#3+1 or maybe knackered switch
-
#4I haven't no i was told it could be that. How much would a garage charge to do that as everything i do to my car i fuck up and it ends up in the garage to be fixed!
-
#5all you need to do is undo the cap under your bonnet and see if its low, it will tell you where it is if you look in your owner's manual, you can't really fuck it up lol.
-
#6Ok cheers mate i will have a look tomorrow.
-
#7If it's low top it up with filtered water, non filtered will eat the pipes
-
#9I had that on the old Sax and it was just that the lever rose up when I went over speed bumps and on bumpy roads. There wasn't enough weight on the lever to keep it down. Can also of course mean brake fluid system damage. Fill the brake fluid up a bit more if it needs. If not, might get it checked if it were me...

#10It's not the brake fluid
i have no idea what it can be! Does anyone else ?
-
#11Faulty switch and the handbrake lever probably.
Does your car have ABS? Might be an issue with that if you have it. -
#13I don't have abs i will have to have a look at the switch or lever
-
#14you can see the switch under the handbrake press it a few time see if that changes the light on and off

#15I had this problem after yanking my handbrake up a little more than normal (my handbrake never used to come past 1 click) I never did find out the problem but i just kept putting the handbrake off with more force eachtime and now ive had my handbrake cables renewed it doesnt do it at all..
Not sure if it is linked to handbrake cables but could be worth a try
