Drivers Door Lock??

  1. #1
    Hi,

My door locks are different. The drivers only works with the fob and the passengers only works with the key, yet the key works in the ignition. (The fact both doors have different methods of locking/unlocking is irrelevant since I bought it this way.) My car was recently in the garage, and the battery was disconnected, but now when I go to UNLOCK the door with the fob the drivers door doesn't unlocks yet the wee thingy inside twitches, doesn't go up, and obviously doesn't unlock the door.

Does the fact the battery was disconnected have any bearing on this function suddenly not working? It still locks when you hit the fob and it unlocks when you go inside and pull the wee thingy up.

My thoughts so far are, fuse/circuit/wire?

To add to that, the horn also has stopped working?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Couple of things:

1 Drivers door sounds like its a completely different lock...

2 The mechanism isn't working in the passenger door hence it not running up with centrol locking

3 The issue I had with mine not unlocking was the door card was stopping the pin from going up as there is 3/4 little teeth underneath the door card where the pin goes through, I just opened mine a bit and now both doors are fine.

Thanks for that, so how do I fix point 3? remove the inner door plastic etc ? Can you refer to it a haynes manuel?

And for the 1st and 2nd points, i thought that, but im not gonna fiddle with them so its cool. Just the third im interested in.

No Haynes needed pal, just one screen inside the door handle, take that out, it's a Torx.. or mine are anyway... and then just pull off the door... If your carfull enough you could just pull the top right/left hand corner off and move the pins with your fingers. It's just little bits off plastic and was getting stuck in the tidy grooves on the pins on mine

As for your horn also, try the fuses.

I'd suggest trying the fuses for everything FIRST if you havn't already, just re-read your post lol and saw the ' My thoughts' bit... Try fuses before trying anything on any car lol
