has anyone colour coded bumper/side strips themselves?

   hey i was gonna throw my car into this workshop to get my strips and bumpers done for £200 . but i was thinking how much it would cost to do it myself. and if its alot of hassle, would i be able to get the lacquers, grey primer etc from halfords?
   
   has anyone done it before?

   personally id rather pay 200 to have it done at a body shop
