Scraping noise on VTR after putting 13s on it

Fitted some 13 inch steelies off a 1.1 Saxo to my VTR for winter, but they make a really loud scraping noise when I drive.

Read on another thread that it might be the brake dust cover. If it is, can this be adjusted to stop the noise?

Cant be adjusted because they are a set size, seems it could be that, they are not that far away from 14's so seems reasonable. Take them off and cut them down, or leave them off are your options really, if it is that.

Lift the car and checkout whats scrapping, it could be the brake caliper or the dustguard. Dustguard can just be bend to fit or cut down...

It could be where you've used alloy wheels length wheel bolts on a much thinner steel wheel and they're touching the hub.

I did this; it's defo the rear brake dust covers.

I did this to and it was the dust covers on mine.

I would say if your gonna take them off to solve the problem it might be worth giving the inner arch pannel a little spray of hammerite before the winter months realy set in.
Only due to the covers acting as a type of splash guard.

Got it sorted - As a lot of people said, it was the dust covers. Bent them back just enough to stop them rubbing and now it's fine. Will bend them back once the VTR wheels go back on
