EXHAUST TYPES? help appreciated

  1. #1
right i need a new exhaust on my 1.1 Currently have the standard but it will not pass its MOT in 6 weeks time. it has several holes in the back and is just more like a lump of rust on the back of my car right now.

but im after a new one next week as i get paid

think i will go custom. im after a 4" Jap Cut back box, i know that part. but what sort of systems are available? i hear everyone talking about De-Catting and silencers, mufflers etc etc etc. i dont have a clue about these!? i know my Cat is in my manifold so that will be staying.

just after some advice on what system i should get? and if somebody could explain the above types. thanks in advance

    REP AVAILABLE lol cheers

With a budget of £150 your best bet is probably an ashley system although its only mild steel if your being realistic you will probably sell your car before you need a new exhaust. Supposed to be loud as feck too. If your looking for custom id say try more like £200-£300 I had an awesome deal on my dual exit as i played 2 companies off one another.

Silencers - Self explanitory really quietens it down
Muffler - As above "i think"
Decatting - Just taking the cat out so the exhaust is more free flowing

If you want a price on an ashley system give me a pm as a friend of mine has a store

If your looking for performance mind id highly recommend supersprint as imo these are the best. With 1 of their systems they garantee a minimum of +14bhp on a mini cooper if i remember correctly. Very expensive though

i swear by magnex mate, good quality system with a nice note.
i got mine from abp motorsport, its a special desgin just for them. it was designed on their demo car, it has great clearance for lowered cars so it sits high up under the car and dosnt catch anything, it only has one box to, which is at the rear, so you get a nice deep note. i felt a great difference with mine, but i fitted it with a de-cat pipe amd manifold.
and at under £300, its a bargain for a full stainless system.

oh yeah, i forgot to mention, its 3.5" tailpipe and it looks like its made for the rear bumper cut out she pops, bangs and gargles when slowing down too when the zorst is nice and hot lol

ive had custom on other cars and they cost quite abit and tend to sound tinny.
i would only buy from a know make bud, as you know it will fit and wont need butchering. lol

steer away from 4" slash cut exhausts on a 1.1 :/
    sorry just my opinion x

why do you reckon that then? i dont think theres much point getting a sporty exhaust system on a car and having it look like a standard tail pipe. i am thinking 4" jap or twin 3" straight cut

It aint going to make much difference on a 1.1 so just get a back box that you like the look of.

A DECENT powerflow will do you anything you want for £150.
