brake juddering

   went to have a look at a vtr today really nice car but the only problem was brake juddering. i just want what is causing it and is it expensive to fix because it was more aggreesive under light braking rather than hard. can anyone help?

   It could have a slight warp in on of the brake discs, other than that I don't know mate

   the discs will be warped mine were had new discs done that stopped it. make sure the calipers pistons aint stickin when fit new ones or will just warp again like mine have in a matter of weeks. ya can get a set of discs and pads off ebay for aabout 80 quid think about hour to fit.

   +1 for warped brakes, had similar problem about 2month ago

   warped disks more than likely.

   +4, get some new discs and pads as the owner obviously cooked them. Will more than certainly need new brake fluid too. Seeing that would put me off buying the car tbh.

   +5 definitely warped discs. My girlfriend left her brakes when she should have changed them until they started to judder whenever you brake - same thing!

   Yeah it would imply that the last owner didn`t look after his/her car.

   You may find the brakes start to squeal in the winter due to grit etc. Can be mistaken for the brakes genuinely wearing down, so just look after them like said!

    I got a set of Front & Rear Disks & Pads from ebay posted for £55.00....
    
    (Granted not gonna be the best kit available but winters approaching and running a car without abs means i dont need the Brembo equivilant for the up and coming weather hense the downgrade)
    
    However people are right to say that such an early sign of neglect can indicate the previous owner didnt give a look after it, however its worth looking at the service history etc. to obtain a rough guide as to how the car was previously treated.
    
    You may find that the cost of genuine parts etc. were to much for the owner to buy and they traded it in?

    alright thanks for all your help the owner used the car to get from devon to the west midlands alot so could this be caused by heavy braking on country roads and the motorway rather that neglect because the guy is like 45 lol?

    Theres your answer then bud, he wasnt gonna replenish the brakes right before he sold it was he.
    
    So once you rectify that problem you might just have a good car there, definatly bring the issue to the sellers attention and you may be able to strike a deal on the price or get them to sort it all out for the right price etc.
