possible faulty lambda?

    My car failed mot last friday told me the emissions were to high he said it hasn't got a cat

    I got a cat from someone on here and got it today, I put it up on ramps today and then realised there was actually a cat on it!! Anyway after I changed them over I took it back to the garage for a mot retest which this time it PASSED!!!

    BUT he said that it did only just pass and meet the requirements do you guys think maybe my lambda sensor is at fault?

    looked in vgc! and also the car idles a little funny from time to time

    seems fine when i first start it
