idea for my car

  1. #1
been messing around on photoshop for ideas on what to do with my saxo i would like to go down the show car route but wanted to be different from the track slag euro route i see every day on here and had a thought of how the scene was back in the day. then it hit me lets find a body kit always like chris morfits wide arch saxo so thought i would have a mess about with it on photoshop and this is what i came up with

i'm new to photoshop so don't slate me to hard lol

Nothing you really can do to a saxo thats new really apart from different wheels and never seen one with skyline jade r's and tvr brakes on before
  6. #6
there is tbh, just need to think about it

wouldn't be identical to that anyway but just a starting point
  8. #8
no matter what kit you go for it has been done hundreds of times before

have to think outside the box
  9. #9
yeah but standard bodywork lowered on 15s has been done 100s of thousands of times before and without a mad bodyshop bill and something that looks optimas prime with wings its kinda hard to be unique
  10. #10
its really not, so many things you can do that are different and don't cost much money

yeah same as think i might put a fast and furious spoiler just to wind people up on here lol. i like to mk1 vt spoiler think it would look to plain without it
  20. #20
Love the wheels on it and how they look under the arch
  21. #21
same as rears are like 10" wide or 11 iirc with the wide arches will look alright only thing is where i've made the wheel as big as i can i think they'd be like 20s or something like that what would be kind hard to get on propper
  22. #22
this is the original pic of chris's car and their 19s already

they look masive side by side
  23. #23
Each to their own, but.. it's a Saxo. I don't get the point of these huge kits at all. They're not that quick, they're not incredibly good looking, they're just decent small cars on which you can do quite a bit to them to make them look very good looking without the need for ridiculous body kits.

Seriously, what's the point. You honestly think people will look at it in a car park and think "Woah, that small saxo with a huge body kit looks amazing!". It's embarrassing.
  24. #24
i think it depends if ur into hotwheels or not
  25. #25
sorry for the terrible picture quality. i took this many years ago on a crappy fone. but heres a saxo with a bodykit on 19s

EDIT - never noticed before but that might be a saxp sticker in the back window...
  26. #26
    ...thus proving my point.
  27. #27
personally i like the use of other car parts fitted on to other cars. Like using the laguna splitter for example. Why not look in to fitting a spoiler from a different car? moulding different bumpers on to it from different cars? that way you car create something unique thats not just a cheap fibre glass body kit stuck on.
    1 user thanked this post:
  28. #28
It must admit it does look different for todays cars but tbh you could just work with the standard kit ALOT for the price youd pay to get something like that done

and you were thinking of putting the daft archs on your flat arch.

    jus sayin

i'm old skool mate like when redline was held together with staples. i like the look of a body kitted saxo done well soz but that sax you posted up there is wank lol. and who said it was going to be fiberglass. i've always loved saxo's and to be honest i wanna do something that not done very often these days to a good standard anyway

yes and you would be right but to be unique you gotta think outside the box and fibreglass is made in the same way that another stronger and sexier material is made not hard to figure out what i'm saying
  33. #33
if you make a huge hideous kit like that out of carbon then you have problems

why do people moan about bodykits not been in no more .......who gives a monkeys if kits are not in so if bodykits come back in next year thats ok ?????? cos trust me they will come back soon as people are running out of ideas to standard cars and the only way to be different is bodykits and make it one off

    vice versa.

If he wants to whip a bodykit on let him. I personally wouldnt but thats not because i dont like them, its the cost etc. I do appreciate a decent
    bodykitted car.

If you dont like them fair enough, dont keep digging every post imo.

i think floating cars will be the next in thing.

anyway on track...i dont mind flared arches...but i dont like sharp looking bumpers...a wide looking saxo i think is nice.

Wide arch saxo's look mint! its finding a nice set of bumpers to match is the tricky bit

I Love the s1600 series saxo kit:

    Wide arches on standard bumpers

    Mortis's car is awesome

The photo shop looks good (alright a little rough but it gives a nice impression)

Me personally i miss the Redline days

I say go for it, but please PLEASE please do it all properly and actually finish it, not start and give up half way through like 90% of "epic" builds on here

yeah it would but thats half the fun of it
  65. #65
ok... this may sound ridiculous... im halfweay to scolding myself for it... but remember the nfs games with auto sculpt? where you could adjust the standard body kit, well what about a wide mouth bumper, but almost the length of the bumper, wider rear wheel arches and bumpers/sideskirts that are stretched lower at the edges, so it still looks standard ish, just exaggerated? its lile a mix of subtle, and decade old bodykits :L
it would be nie to see some different wheels being used too, i love bbs and deep dish, but there isnt much variety in the 'perfect wheels' area now...

na thats it everyone is doing the same thing be it body work or wheels as soon as someone does something cool everyone wants to copy it i personally want a car thats not the same as everyone elses. i got a few ideas in store for this car but gonna keep them in my head for now and mess about with photoshop alittle
  67. #67
well like i said this car is gonna be diffent so heres another photshop i've just finished with the new bumper i'm thinking off wasn't gonna show anyone as didn't want people to know before i hit the shows lol

To be honest not alot of people on here will like it unless its 'lowered on S rims' lol but i think it looks pretty smart really and I dissagree when people say its all been done before, if its done properly kitted cars can look really good imo go for it

or pro 1.2s or like wise gonna be done just looking for the the bumper preferably a replica as the evo x ings bumper is like 500 quid on it own so hopefully i can get an ings replica one as its an expensive bumper to be cutting up
  72. #72
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...All-Categories first one would be easier, because your just squaring out the centre part, and putting an extra vent in next to the fog lights
for the extra side scoop parts, you could find a similar style from another bumper to cut and fit, but thinking about it, im sure a faring from a bike could work well as a donor?

yeah i see what your saying i could just start of with a standard saxo bumper tho and mould fibreglass and try make it myself. because i'm sure the evo bumper it gonna be a pain in the arris

thanks pal my balls are like melons so think i will loool.

some pics of the ings evo bumper.

as you can see the bumper it fair more angled than the photoshop version.

so might be best to start from scratch and try replicate the bumper following the lines of the bodykit
  76. #76
nice to no that mate lol
and that evo bumper should look real good on a saxo. very unique!

i hope so cos to be honest the scene has got boring everyone worrying about what custom badges would make there car stand out compared to how it used to be a few years back where people would mould there gran to the bumper to make there car stand out.

aha just had a little laugh about that comment but i no what you mean to many 'epic builds' falling through and meeting the forsale section because there being striped for parts tbh...
  79. #79
i know, the worst thing is when they get so close and give up. i love these cars and even when i sell on or strip them i find myself running back to them. so this time i know i gotta go for it gonna get them photoshops done again and printed out for my wall to keep me going. but as i've said as soon as christmas is out the way gonna start the build

Just been flicking through the pictures, and am loving the new bumper idea!!
What i meant was that i wasnt fond of the arches (but each to their own!), It's gone from an "in your face" like head turning front,
to a rather plain side and rear all being smoothed. That's just my opinion though.
Possibly a mental spoiler could break it up a bit,

maybe a bit like this spoiler where it flicks up a bit and isn't huge, but without the scaffolding- which this peugeot has
  85. #85
nooo stick to a std vt spoiler otherwise itll look chavvy.. just my opinion though

Don't listen to any dickhead telling you what to do with your car, follow your heart, if you like it then go for it! It's not impossible to change anyway, so if it turns out you don't like it then change it. Nothing wrong with experimenting.
