Chip in windscreen

There's a small chip about 5-6mm big on my windscreen - been there since I bought the car a few months back, but I'm deciding to get it sorted now before it gets worse, especially with the winter.

Just phoned Autoglarse and they said it'll be £85 to get the chip sorted. I'm third party fire & theft with my insurance so it won't cover for it.

Does £85 for a chip repair sound reasonable to you guys?

Take out windscreen cover on your insurance and wait a little while

    I am too?
I'm with admiral and they offer a separate "Windscreen cover" in addition to your policy. Cost me £10 for the year.
I already had a chip in mine and have been putting it off, took out my new policy about a month ago and you've just reminded me to get it sorted.
I phoned them up 20 minutes and someone is coming to my house tomorrow, I was given the option of £25 to repair the chip or £75 to replace the windscreen... guess which I picked. Hahah!

    That's brilliant :O

I'm with Quinn insurance - I'll have to double check what their policy is with windscreen cover. Cheers for that though!
