slow idle

   i have noticed that when the car is warm it tends to idle at a slow pace like its on the verge of shutting off. it seems worse at night with all the electrics on, but at times it will also bog down when i push the accelerator hard, mainly when cold.
   am i looking at a related problem or should i look at new plugs/ leads.
   the slow idle is the most annoying. its like i need to put my foot on the accelerator pedal slightly.
   being new to saxos, is there a idle screw on the 1.1 east coast mk1. or is it a vlave or sensor?

   its got a idle control valve (icv). have a look at your airfilter as might be clogged up with shite staving the engine of air. then look at the plugs and other related ignition. clean your icv mate those few thing should fix the problem

   could possibly be a battery/alternator problem aswell as you say its worse when using more power

   thanks for the heads up mate. i got a induction kit on the little engine but these probs happened before i put it on. so yeah will do the other stuff next. i thought it was mabey a duff battery as it got worse at night but the car starts great day or night.

   i was wondering should i clean the idle control valve with carb cleaner and where would i find the it on a mk1 1.1.
   has anyone done a step by step on this.
