Tips for removing the manifold?

  1. #1
Ive done a search for a guide, only found one for fitting a 4-2-1 mani, but i need a bit of help with how im supposed to reach all of the bolts?

Ideally, i want to just remove from the cat to the centrepipe section, but i cant get to the bolts nearest the engine block... and i cant see how im going to get to the lower bolts for pistons 2 and 3 on the manifold to remove it...

    Any links or advice guys?

13 on a mini ratchet, dont attack it from outside the manifold inward.

Try and get the ratchet itself behind the manifold (engine side) and work it from there.

Make sure its cold or ul be scalding fingers!

+wire brush the nuts & soak in wd40 helps too.

thanks guys! i figured itd be a case of spending ages on the inside nuts (we dont have ratchet spanners.... but i have plenty of small ratchets that might fit)

flexi extension on a small ratchet with a 13mm long reach socket, and for the 2 bottom middle ones i used a 13mm spanner that i cut in half to fit behind lol.

yeah... looked at in the light and just used a 3 inch extension bar on a ratchet, was piece of piss
Had to chisel two nuts off though, they were completely rounded... but its off!
