Whining Noise - Help!

   Hi guys, i seem to have acquired a horrible whining noise coming back from the airport this weekend.
   
   Its coming from the front of the car and im pretty sure its coming from the passenger side. It only happens when the cars moving so i dont think its engine related. Normally takes a couple of minutes to appear once i set off.
   
   I checked for play on the Drive shafts but there wasn't any. Also drained the gearbox oil to check for bits of metal etc, but it seemed clean enough. Im going to check my wheel bearings today but if it isn't that im wondering if anyone has any ideas what it might be or if somebody's experienced the same thing for themselves.

   I get a whine from my alternator, its prob either belt 1) too tight 2) too lose or 3) on its way out i reckon but just thought id share my whine lol

   Haha that went thought went through my mind but it only happens when im moving and im sure its from the other side (passenger side) =/ Thanks anyway.

   Gearbox diff maybe,or you`ve nicked a jet engine from the airport lol(sorry couldn`t resist)

   I have the same problem when I'm driving and put it into 2nd and 3rd gear but my car has only don't 37,000 miles. Surely the gearbox cant be on its Way out?

   Have you checked the gearbox oil?

   I've only had the car about a week and not had chance to do it yet but it's had yearly services in the service history would they change gearbox oil then?
