Battery not starting VTS up even after 4 hour charge

  1. #1
    As above,

Charged my batter for about 4-5 hours, and tried to start it over, it almost went then it just starts to die, and then eventually just makes the ECU click repeatably. I have also tested this with another battery, that was on another car in the family home and also dose the same...

I have to jump start it to get it ticked over, even leaving it running for 30 mins and then trying to start it up there still inst enough power in the battery to get it started again.

Much help is needed, as I need to be able to start her up once every 3-4 days to clear the shit out!

check the alternator and the battery

Check wiring between battery and alternator and check earth continuity

chances are its just a shitty earth, jumping it causes the connection to close until you eventually turn the car off.
had this on my old 1.1 until i cleaned up the terminals and ground wires. it cut out on me in the middle of the night when i was driving once, everything went off! not fun!

As already said check the earths etc,but the amount of time you`ve charged the battery for doesn`t seem like long enough.Try charging it overnight mate.

Can anyone confirm how many earths I should have ?

And where I can find these, and where they come from.

    Thanks
