Engine temprature sensor

   Hi,have an 02 plate vtr that needs an engine temperature sensor,been told the blue or green one,any one got a diagram of where it is so i can take it out

   its green one, look on side of thermostat housing, there will be 2 sensors, 1 blue and 1 green

   It's on the thermostat housing mate it's a green one only a 2 pin thing, I believe it's a 17 or 19mm

   i think the phase 1 engines have green coolant sensors and phase 2 blue sensors. mines a mk1 engine and mines green

   what ever colour it is , its the only one on the thermostat housing

    Out of interest are you likely to lose coolant when swapping this plug-even when cold?

    yes you will lose a bit so when you change them do it quick to save air getting in

    Temperature coolant sensor is the green plug, pretty close to the blue plug.

    Yes have the new sensor next to you & screw it in quick.
