When engine hits 5 thousand revs it cuts out

Hi could a knackered idle control valve cause this ? its more or less when i hit them revs. and i have shaking only on certain revs just over 1 thousand, could it cause the engine to shake on those revs as i would of thought the engine isnt struggling for air at those revs?

Yes it could because the exhaust gases could be getting sucked back up into the air filter & richening the mixture.Try wire brushing around where the lambda sensor is screwed in then give it a shot of wd40.

Could possibly be your EGR or throttle body
