One brake light not working??

  1. #1
Noticed earlier that one of my brake lights wasn't working so swapped the bulb over for a new one and it still isn't working. I've tried searching and checked what people have suggested, such as fuses, corroded holder, etc but still having no luck getting it to work.

    Does anyone have any suggestions??

this has happened to me too! my car has bin properly playing up recently, the left break light/tail light has gone out, replaced them and nothing, and the left side light has gone out too

Check your fuses... look in the manual for which one it is, saves alot of time and hassle!!

Yep - all working - just the light on the drivers side that illuminates when the brake is applied.

The contact where the bulb touches may need adjusting.

Had the same problem and played around with the contact so its a better connection and its spot on now

new bulb could be faulty... try it in the other side?

as above your contact could be better, just adjust it. llook at the brake light on the opposite side of the car for roughly where the contact should be

if you look at the bulb, inside there will be 2 very fine strands of wire coming off a couple of metal pins (the best i can describe lol ) thats a double element bulb. a single will be one strand of wire.

also check your earth points behind the tail lights.

Give the circuit contacts a clean, it could be dirty. This was my problem.
