Track Suspension Help

Right spent a few days looking but still not sure on this.

I'm going to sort my suspension set up out on my 106 as it is now a pure track slag.

What set up is good for track, on something like an R888. I was going to go with the AST stuff but at just over 1k I think it might be overkill, I don't need loads of adjustment as I don't know what I'm doing with it anyway! lol. What would people suggest at around £500? Or is it really worth forking out 1k for the AST oil overs?

I would get some bilstein inserts for a coilover conversion. This way you get good inertia variable damping aswell as the ability to match the spring rates to how you like them. And ride height adjustment. Relatively cheap to do , just a bit of welding, then a good coating. depending on spring rate the strut turrets may need some strengthening. but you should be fine if kept around the 200-250lb mark. for the rear some torsion bars to work with the front spring rating, and some decent rear dampers, bilstein or ast. It is easier to change the front spring rates to balance the car. so get the rear torsion bar rating (probably around 21/22 mm) then a front spring set. drive it, and adjust the front springs to suit. it's also considerably cheaper! Height wise, keep it between standard height and 30mm i say.
Then if you want to go further in the fine tuning use differnet ARB's to tune the dynamic loading of the car

I like your thinking mate, I'l have a look into the coil over inserts as I don't fully understand how they work
